Today the Republicans Continue Their Repeal Obamacare Charade

Well, today the House of Representatives will be holding their vote to repeal the controversial Obamacare law, and I am again here to tell you that even if the House is successful in garnering the appropriate votes to repeal this law, that is as far as this thing goes – ever.  There simply isn’t enough support to overturn this law in the Senate, and as I wrote yesterday, the level of enthusiasm to repeal this law is dwindling fast among the Republicans, despite their continued rhetoric about how this law is bad policy and bad for America.  Yep, it doesn’t matter whether they are elephants (Republicans) or jack asses (Democrats) they are both just big dumb animals that none of us would want wandering through a china shop.

I think the thing that baffles me the most about a lot – if not the majority – of Americans is their willingness to continue accepting all of the outright bullshit that either of these two parties candidates, officials and representatives spout out.  Neither party has actually demonstrated any level of competency in executing anything that they have hoisted upon the necks of us, their constituents.  In fact I think that many of our elected aristocracy harbor more than a little disdain for us, their constituents.  Take Obamacare (modeled after Romneycare) for example, depending on whichever poll you choose to look at the public opinion of this law is anywhere between a little over 50% to as much as 60% of respondents are not in favor of this law; and yet there it is, and despite all of the rhetoric coming from the right, it is here to stay.  You would think that if these people, who like to call themselves our representatives, actually paid attention to, and respected our thoughts on this matter, then this law probably would never have been passed.  In short, and to put it bluntly, these people who are supposed to be of the people don’t give a good tinker’s damn about what it is that we the people want.  This is  apparently because through some sort of divine providence this group of 546 people (435 Representatives, 100 Senators, 1 President, 1 Vice President, and 9 Supreme Court Justices) know what each and every one of us 300+ million need more than we do; and they are apparently clairvoyant enough to know what we want too.  It surprises me that more and more people haven’t called these charlatans out on the amount of ivory tower hubris that they have in believing that we are too stupid to think for ourselves.  It saddens me too that the vast majority of my fellow citizens are willing to blindly follow these snake oil salesmen and forsake their own ability to reason; since I am in the apparent minority I have to live with all of the literal B.S. that keeps getting shoved down my throat from the completely out of touch and yet continually elected elite; and for that I say thank you from the bottom of my heart (umm, yeah, I am being sarcastic there).

If you think you’re free, there’s no escape possible.”  ~ Ram Dass
